The Land version of the Aerstone 10yo has been ageing slowly further inland compared to the Sea Cask. Because of the highland peat, it shows a richer, smoky character. The nose of the Aerstone 10yo Land is rich and punchly peated, with layers of coal tar and damp bonfire smoke (typical of the style) – punctuated with vibrant, zesty citrus notes. The initial rush of peat and wood smoke is follwed by a gentle sweetness. The hint of spices and ripe fruit gets enrobed by the smoke, creating a long lasting whisky.
