VERY LIMITED QUANTITIES! 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 5 % Petit Verdot aged for 12-14 months in French oak Hortevie (formerly known as Chateau Hortevie) is located at the northern fringe of the town of Beychevelle in the famed appellation Bordeaux of Saint-Julien, and since 2006 has been owned by the same owner as neighbouring Chateau Ducru-Beaucaillou. Unfortunately, this wine is no longer in production; 2012 was the last vintage. Hortevie is a consistent, forward yet ageworthy claret and here some of Saint-Julien’s typical cedary character has emerged to add intrigue to the long, satisfying finish. Perfect with veal, pork, beef, lamb, duck, game, roast chicken, roasted/ braised/ grilled dishes, Asian cuisine, tuna, mushrooms, cheese, pasta.
