A five year old expression from Hinch Distillery, Double Wood gives a hint to its maturation in the name. The Irish whiskey is made from a blend of both grain and malt whiskeys, and it’s initially aged in bourbon casks with a 12 month finish in virgin American oak barrels.
Nose: Sweet and creamy with a touch of lemon peel, vanilla cream and tobacco.
Palate: More creamy notes of vanilla alongside apricot, peach, cinnamon and oak spice.
Finish: Honeyed fresh fruit, fresh melon and milk chocolate digestives.
