The Metaxa brand was established in 1888 by Spyros Metaxa. The brandies are made by blending grape spirit with plump grapes from Attica.

Dark honey colour in the glass. The nose is full of rose blossom, orange water, violet flowers and honey with apricot, stewed plums, black pepper and toasty oak. The palate has a lightly honey sweetness, orange marmalade and violets with ripe plums, red grapefruit and light peppery spice.
The finish has some peachy fruit emerging with a lingering honeyed sweetness, almond and light pepper spice again.

A very aromatic and approachable, easy drinking, brandy-like spirit.
