Made to the original Pickering's Gin recipe recorded in India in 1947 the nine botanicals are juniper, coriander, cardamom, fennel, anise, lemon, lime, cloves and cinnamon (in place of the angelica used in regular Pickering's). Nose: Dried lime peels at first, though it soon enough develops a core of chopped green herbs. Palate: Soft and creamy, and quite Christmas-y too! Cinnamon, clove and fruit notes result in an almost mince pie-like flavour profile. Finish: Remains festively sweet, with a crackle of peppery juniper right on the tail.
